About the Cartographers' Guild
An independent group surveying browser games for players in the UK.
Last revised 31 October 2026
The Cartographers' Guild is a small, independent group of players in the UK who like games that open in a browser tab. We started it because those games rarely get serious reviews, even though millions of people play them every day on work breaks, trains and sofas.
What we cover
Games you can play from a link without installing anything: puzzles, strategy, word games, quick multiplayer arenas and the odd strange experiment. We look for games that are well made, currently online and playable in the UK.
Why maps?
A good map shows you the ground before you set out: where the climbs are, where it gets boggy and how long the walk will take. We try to do the same for games, so you know what you are getting into before you click.
How we stay independent
No developer or publisher pays for coverage. There are no ads on our sheets and no links that earn us money. If a studio gives us early access, we say so on the sheet.
Who we write for
Adults and older teenagers in the UK. Some games we cover have open chat or in-game shops, so we flag those clearly. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13.
